Richard Kemmish is an independent consultant specialising in the covered bond and securitisation markets. He has over 25 years of experience in the mortgage finance market working initially on mortgage securitisations (until it became fashionable) and subsequently on covered bonds, where he was closely involved in many of the key developments of the last 15 years and served for eight long years on the steering committee of the European Covered Bond Council. Recently he has been working closely with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to develop new covered bond markets, for the European Commission on feasibility studies for the Covered Bond Directive and European Secured Notes and other development banks on the application of secured debt technology to address needs in emerging markets. He also provides structuring, advisory, training and expert witness services for a variety of organisations on all things related to covered bonds and writes regularly for the Euromoney Conferences website.
