Raja Palaniappan is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Origin Markets, a London-based digital platform for primary debt capital markets issuance. Originally from San Francisco, Raja Palaniappan started his career as a flow credit trader at Lehman Brothers in London in 2008. Over the subsequent 7 years, Raja also worked at Nomura and Credit Suisse, trading investment grade and crossover bonds and credit derivatives, focusing on the industrials, energy, and metals and mining sectors. In 2015, he decided to leave the industry to launch Origin Markets with his co-founder and fellow credit trader, Robert Taylor. Origin has grown over the past 8 years and is now used by over 20 major investment banks and 100 frequent borrowers globally, and has been involved in over 500 debt capital markets transactions. Raja holds bachelor of science degrees in electrical engineering and biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
